Radio frequency emissions

When powered off

The s1mp3 emits lots of radio frequency emissions even when powered off, as one discovers when one puts an AM radio into the same shirt pocket as an off s1mp3 -- the signal becomes white noise!

There is much more interference then a digital watch makes. But what is the s1mp3 keeping track of when powered off other than its clock? (used for file dates of any recordings that one might make).
