S1mp3 types
The S1mp3 may come in many different types, although the same external look does not mean that they are firmware compatible. What they all have in common is the use of the Category:ATJ family audio SoC.

There is an ongoing effort at the s1mp3 forum to categorize s1mp3 mp4 players.
Type A
Type A mp4 players have buttons on both sides.

Type D
Type D players have a 1.8" screen (160x128) and usually have a built-in speaker.
- Type D1 - Has all function buttons on the side(s).
