Initial words - change it ?

JedOi, your docs are really well written, but this wiki article can't focus so much on user precautions ... In my view, we should try to make the todo, more related to the s1mp3 and leave major definitions, precautions, warnings, etc. to external pages. That's why I've resumed the initial part. JedOi, why don't you submit your work to the main wikipedia firmware article ? --Wladston 09:09, 11 February 2006 (CST)

Ahhh, I think I know what you would prefer to see in our wiki ... would it be better to just link to wikipedia for "What is firmware" and then have more of a technical data page specifically for the s1mp3 which might help the reverse engineering project ?

ie. giving a list of all individual files inside a typical firmware and attempting to explain what each file does and maybe how they interact with each other as the knowledge becomes available ? --JedOi

Yes, that's it. Of course a "what is a firmware" and a warning for noobs should be included, but just as a simple note. This is not the main purpose ...

In this page, I would like to see explained how a firmware works, how internal files are packed, how is a firmware flashed, ... and the other things on the todo ...

This is just my opinion ... --Wladston 11:41, 11 February 2006 (CST)

JedOi, the last change was too much radical !! :)

Let's resume and write what we can on wikipedia, then we remove the content from here! ;) It was nicely written! --Wladston 11:44, 11 February 2006 (CST)

Added a little clarification, please change if presumtion incorrect :) --JedOi

Please add the above considerations into the help:editing page --Legolas558 08:13, 16 February 2006 (CST)

TODO

WHAT is inside a firmware file, WHAT get flashed and WHERE, HOW are the files organized, how is a firmware packed and then exctracted, WHAT is left in order to have a perfect repack, so we can pack a replacement ap with any size we want ... --Wladston 06:15, 9 February 2006 (CST)

I think wiRe has this information. However anybody reading his source code may complete the wiki here. The whole documentation should have two layers of depth: the first, for any noob, the second, for programmers
