WTF? This page links back to the individual project pages? ... This page should have the download links for every piece of software we release. It should be the only place to look for the latest binaries, and therefore, the only page we have to update when a new release is made. Perhaps it should be moved to Releases to avoid confusion with Category:Software? Ali1234 23:25, 7 November 2006 (EST)
Ali, please allow me to disagree ... or at least show another point of view. If we place the links here, them we won't place them on the respective subproject pages (duplicate information!). I think it's more reasonable to include the download link/release information on the subproject page, rather than redirecting the user from the subproject page to another page ... Think about this .. and tell me what you think.--Wladston 09:57, 8 November 2006 (EST)
- All of the problems you describe are correct, however, you have the effects reversed. If we were to store the download links on the individual project pages, the following would happen: a) we would have several pages with download information on, thus duplication. b) most people would go to Software first as it is linked on the front page. they would then get redirected as you say. so to avoid both of these problems, we have a centralized downloads page.
- hummmm okay .. you got me. It's execute the plan them ? --Wladston 20:09, 12 November 2006 (EST)
