It's great that this page exists, but (assuming that the contributors have experimented a bit with different options) it would be good if the different options are actually described. For example, simply saying "mode0 works best" isn't very informative. It doesn't say what the different modes mean. I imagine that they have different cropping/resizing methods, which would be very useful if one wanted (as I frequently have) to do a very quick re-encode of existing video, and didn't have time to put it through virtualdub. Similarly, what *are* the frame-rates? 12fp smight not be much use for recording 30fps sources, but if one has 25fps sources (e.g. UK PAL), it makes more sense.

Of course, if nobody has donea methodical analysis of these options then maybeI'll get round to it and do it myself :-) .

Still, it's a good start - there is practically no other information on AMV that I have been able to find, so well done. 2006/08/11 - fizzybrain
