Categories

there is a duplicate 'help pages' category. Why don't you add an 'assistance' category which merges elements from 's1mp3 identification' ? Trouble-shooting should go there also. --Legolas558 15:10, 14 February 2006 (CST)

Excelent Idea! Going to execute it! --Wladston 15:13, 14 February 2006 (CST)

Wiki maintenance

Delete these Special:Unusedimages.

s1mp3 photos

there where some photos already on the yahoo group --Legolas558 03:15, 17 February 2006 (CST)

Yeah - two kinds of players! The both are on the wiki page! Take a look!

Relax

Come on Wladston, user forum accumulated so many solutions to this kind of problems that you can simply ignore such emails as everyone who *really* cares about health of his s1mp3 will find an answer in some of the previous posts. You can set up an automatic reply for every mail that has words like "broken", "died", "zapped" in it, with message to read carefully the forum or to contact producer ;-). You already did a gread job as a customer support, so relax B).
Maybe rename SWAN to SWANSD (SWan AiNt Support Desk ;-)) Roeoender 11:50, 13 March 2006 (CST)

Are you alive, Wladston? didn't get my last email?? see ya! --Legolas558 01:42, 21 March 2006 (CST)

Beware of spammers!

spammers are around, prepare to flame them down and to guard the wiki

Yeah, I see the "recent changes". OMG, I hope this wave of spammers soon goes away ... I hope we won't need to block unregistered users from contributing ... you know if there is anything we can do to punish these vandals ? --Wladston 12:34, 26 March 2006 (CST)

Please look this User:207.190.156.131, he has messed up Wrong memory size --Legolas558 03:40, 2 April 2006 (CDT)

Sorry, I already reverted the page before reading this talk ;) Maybe some clumsy user ? I seemed to void the page then tried to reverted it. But he made some markup mistakes... BTW: if you you disagree with my spam/vandal fight tell me. I will try to contribute useful material when possible. --seki 05:19, 2 April 2006 (CDT)

Edit : "I seemed to void the page then tried to reverted it." oops I notice it is the opposite of what i meaned : it seems to me that this clumsy user had saved an empty page then restored a broken page. I just reverted the page to the last good version... BTW , english is not my native language (I'm french), I hope not to make such mistranslation in the future. It could be... embarrassing. :oS --seki 18:04, 2 April 2006 (CDT)

Wladston, I fear one day you will have to disallow unregistered users' edits. This will not prevent spammers but may make life harder for them --Legolas558 15:54, 2 April 2006 (CDT)

Wow ! Today, it seem to happened some sport with spam ?? --seki 15:00, 5 April 2006 (CDT)

Great job with your antispam mods of the wiki ! Things seem to become far quieter for spam than it used to be lask week :) --seki 07:37, 13 April 2006 (CDT)

Thanks to S1mp3.org and its wiki !

I just brake my S1 yesterday by upgrading a wrong fw : I played and I lost :oP Thanks to the advanced guides, the dead recovery guide and a replacement fw found on the forum I managed to flash back my dumped fw. I'll mail it to you. I think I could contribute with some tech infos about mine S1 (board number, ATJ2051 cpu, maybe some pix,...) mail me what could be useful to tell you. --seki 07:48, 13 April 2006 (CDT)

Donations

Enable donations to your address. Then you will put the money into the main s1mp3 count, if you receive some ;) --Legolas558 10:40, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

License

In my italian translation it is clearly told that "all S1mp3 wiki contributes are considered as released under GNU FDL license (see Project:Copyrights] for more details)"... --Legolas558 10:43, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

I suggest adding a disclaimer to the forums saying that the content can be used by s1mp3.org under the FBDL license. You should also require that users accept the new terms in the next login. This maybe too complex and useless, so we may skip it.

Errata corrige

http://www.s1mp3.org/wiki/index.php?title=BROM&diff=prev&oldid=2876

why did you make it? can you provide me a source of information(e.g. where did you read it) I assumed that BROM was 16kb from the datasheets and from BREC size (16kb)....however the discussion is open on the maillist atm --Legolas558 12:34, 26 April 2006 (CDT)

Redirects

the redirects were added to ease finding informations on the wiki, as BC pointed out. I also liked the feature of typing a keyword and getting redirected to what was bound to it, and it was also good for people which didnt know the exact titles of pages --Legolas558 15:45, 3 July 2006 (CDT)

  • if we are moving on TRAC, they are no more needed. If I remember correctly informations are more easily searchable on TRAC too, so dont care about the redirects ;) --Legolas558 17:27, 3 July 2006 (CDT)
    • I agree that mediawiki is better, but it is a deal we have to make. theorically basecamp was the best, but it was a paid service..you know, I am for centralization, but feel free to discuss to other people and get a better decision, I have nothing against it --Legolas558 17:34, 3 July 2006 (CDT)

Dev Status

please fix this Dev:Status removing all the references or adding a redirect to the TRAC's roadmap --Legolas558 17:31, 3 July 2006 (CDT)

done. --Wladston 17:36, 3 July 2006 (CDT)

Lonely pages

I have fixed some lonely pages, now this Player Interior page is left, I don't know what to do with it. Regards --Legolas558 06:15, 15 September 2006 (CDT)

New wiki policy

Hi Wladston, nice to see you back.

About the vandals: blocking their IP for infinite time is useless, almost nobody uses static IPs and those who use it won't use their static IP to damage the wiki.

So now I am blocking the IPs for 6 months, I don't think that removing the old blocks has lead to more vandals and spammers; thee are probably just new ones.

Let me know what you think about this --Legolas558 08:49, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
